Stitch Ministry Sees Red

There were a few red faces at the Stitch Ministry show and I'm not talking about the embarrassed kind. It's the fantastic make-up on the models that I'm referring to. Red hands, red faces and a little bit of red smudged onto the dresses (oops). The dramatic paint looked amazing and perfectly complemented Stitch Ministry's stunning Winter '09 collection.

The diverse range of garments were slick, sexy and very wearable. We saw chunky knitted capelets, tights galore - shiny or textured to suit day or night, perfect-fit skinny jeans, wonderfully patterned maxi dresses and a rock-star suit with a stunning cut. Plus lots of Stitch's signature knit dresses and cleverly woven tops.

The theme was Native American; so the models sported statuesque Indian headdresses and feathers in their hair. The feathers were also used to great effect in several garments such as the delicious lace and feather knickerbockers.

Star pieces for me were the dip-dyed tartan kilt and vest, a Grecian style black woollen dress and some very cool knitted leggings with a stripy zigzag print. I’m also secretly hoping you can buy the big feather headdresses; they have to be the coolest accessory I've seen in a while!
