Michael Pattison is a man of contrasts – masterful tailor mixed with tongue-in-cheek showman. He is one of Air New Zealand Fashion Week’s brightest talents, who all the buyers will be watching.
Pattison’s label is synonymous with high quality cuts and beautifully tailored silhouettes. If he had his way New Zealand men would be in three-piece suits every day (or pink overalls for a special occasion). But don’t panic all you rugged kiwi blokes, he offers lots of stylish, wearable separates too.
Pattison designs full men’s and women’s collections, both of which offer something for every age and occasion. As he explains on his website, “If you’re gunning for a promotion or a husband there are plenty of pieces in the [Summer ‘08] collection that won’t go unnoticed.”
Typical witty prose from the man who brought us such collections as ‘Yoko Homo’ and ‘The Lady, the Clerk, her Pimp and his Lover.’ We can’t wait for his carnival themed extravaganza at Fashion Week. And keep an eye out for the showman, who has been known to strut his own wares on the catwalk before. Fashion Weeks Next Top Model / Designer? We’ll have to wait and see.
